DRAWLLOWEEN CHALLENGE
'Drawlloween' is an annual drawing challenge created by Mab Graves, where artists respond to word prompts for each day of October.
I partook in the first 10 days of the challenge, producing graphite drawings in a square format.
I thoroughly enjoy responding to a brief, and this was a great opportunity to create a small group of works.
The above photos demonstrate my process: first, I produced initial quick, messy sketches, and then I designed the components of the image.
Second, when creating the final artwork, I refined these into a clearer tonal rough to reference.
Finally, I used graphite pencil to illustrate the final design.
One of these pieces was bought by a private art collector.
